CT Examinations

All patients are asked to arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled appointment time to complete the required paperwork.

All patients must bring  -

• The request form from their doctor
• Medicare or DVA card, and any government issued pension or health care cards
• All previous x-rays or scans of the area being examined

• An appointment is usually required
• Patients should wear loose, comfortable clothing.
• Clothing with metal clips, buttons and zippers near the area being scanned will have to be removed, a disposable gown will be supplied should you require one.
• Any jewellery near the area being scanned should also be removed.

Brain, Neck, Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, Angiography

• Hydrated fast for 4 hours prior to appointment. (i.e. May drink water &
• take necessary medication)
• Diabetic patients on Metformin medications may require renal function results sent to us BEFORE their appointment is made. Your referring doctor should arrange for this to be done. Please call Orana Radiology for further information.
• Patients having abdomen or pelvis scans may be required to arrive 45 minutes prior to scanning to have a special drink which allows us to see the bowel more clearly. This will be arranged when you make your appointment

Cervical Spine, Thoracic Spine, Lumbar Spine, Sinuses

• Saturday appointments available.
• No preparation for these examinations.
